Guitar Kit | Make Your Own Guitar.
Jun 10th, 2009 | By Project-D | Category: Cool Stuff, Featured GuitarIf you’ve toyed with the idea of making a guitar then a guitar kit is an easy way to get started. You can make an electric guitar pretty easily, most of the parts are bolt together, some of them even have snap together electronics. I’ve made an electric guitar kit, I got one of the Saga guitar kits from eBay. It was $105 with shipping and it came with everything except tools. I decided to use a lot of different parts, not because the kit parts were low quality but because I wanted gold hardware. It did cause some problems down the line but you’ll see that in up coming posts. You’ll usually need a screwdriver, a saw to cut out the headstock, file and sandpaper to smooth it out and various shaped sanding blocks (I just used scraps of wood). I don’t have a lot of experience with other “make your own guitar kits”, just the one I did. Some people say they’re crappy, but lots of people have made some pretty good guitars out of them. They’re good as a project guitar, you can try different things and learn about how a guitar is set up. I’d say most electric guitar building kits are worth it for the knowledge alone.
This is exactly the electric guitar kit I have.
